Stewardship is based on the Holy Trinity
A summary of the talk given by His Excellency, Bishop Nicholas Samra at St Mary's Latin (Roman) Catholic Cathedral in San Francisco on May 1, 1999. Bishop Nicholas approved this summarization.
In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Holy Trinity is the basis of Stewardship:
God the Father | | He gave us Oikonomia. |
God the Son | | He became man like us and died to redeem us. |
God the Holy Spirit | | He gave us seven gifts and twelve fruits of those gifts. |
God gave us everything - life, body, soul, spirit, mind, talents, time, etc.
We have an obligation to return everything to God.
Why do Stewardship? | God the Father | He gave us Oikonomia. |
How to do Stewardship? | God the Son | He shows us by His example and tells us by His preaching. |
How to determine if we are doing Stewardship? | God the Holy Spirit | Use His seven gifts to determine what to do and analyze the results of those decisions to see if the decisions produce the twelve fruits of correct decisions. |
Oikonomia is defined as God the Father's plan of salvation realized in His Son taking Flesh. It is also called "God the Father's Plan of Redemption" and the "Incarnation". In English, "Oikonomia" is translated as "Economy".
God the Son is also called Holy God the Son within the Holy Trinity / Our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

O God of all spirits and of all flesh, who have destroyed death, overcome the devil, and given life to the world: grant, O Lord, to the souls of your servants
Bucky and Shirley, who has departed from this life, that it may rest in a place of light, in a place of happiness, in a place of peace, where there is no pain, no
grief, no sighing. And since You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive him/her every sin he/she has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for
there is not a man who lives and does not sin : You alone are without sin, your righteousness is everlasting, and your word is true. You are the Resurrection and
the Life, and the repose of your departed servants Bucky and Shirley. O Christ our God, and we send up glory to You, together with your eternal Father and your
all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and always and for ages upon ages. Amen.
