Sunday after the Holy Cross

The first Sunday following the Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross is "The Sunday after the Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross". This Sunday is usually called "Sunday after the Holy Cross".

(Sunday of the) First Week after: Miraculous Catch

The second Sunday following the Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross is "The Sunday of the First Week after the Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross". This Sunday is usually called "(Sunday of the) after the Holy Cross" or "First Sunday after the Holy Cross" or "Miraculous Catch".

Sunday of the XXXX Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross (XXXX Sunday of the Holy Cross)

Every Sunday following the "Sunday after the Great Feast of Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross" is both a Sunday after Pentecost and a Sunday of the Holy Cross until The Tridoion.
Some theologians think the Pentecost Cycle and Holy Cross Cycle ends on the day before the First Sunday of the Tridoion: Sunday of the Pharisee and the Publican. Other theologians think that this period ends on the day before the First All Souls Saturday. The First All Souls Saturday is the day before the Third Sunday of the Triodion: Sunday of Meat fare.

The formal name for these Sundays of the Holy Cross is the "Sunday of the xxth Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross". The reason is that Sunday is the last day of the liturgical week.
Then, the formal name for the first Sunday after the "Sunday after the Holy Cross" is the "Sunday of the First Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross". This name is usually shortened by dropping the phrase "Sunday of the". So, this name is usually "First Sunday of the Holy Cross".
I will name the Sundays as "(Sunday of the) First Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross".

Four Sundays during the Holy Cross cycle are not Sunday of the XXXX Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross (XXXX Sunday of the Holy Cross):

Readings

  • Apostolos - continues the XXX Sunday after the Great Feast of Pentecost.
  • Gospel - Beginning with the Sunday of the First Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross, the Gospel is the Gospel of the Sunday of the XXXX Week after the Great Feast of the of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Holy Cross.

Last Sunday before The First Sunday of the Triodion / The First Sunday of the Prophonisimon: Sunday of the Pharisee and the Publican

The Last Sunday before The First Sunday of the Triodion / The First Sunday of the Prophonisimon: Sunday of the Pharisee and the Publican can be Three Sundays.
This is explained in Great Feast of Pentecost Cycle and Great Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross Cycle - Last Sunday

Liturgical Cycle

From the Monday after the Great Feast of Pentecost to Great and Holy Saturday, Sunday is the last day of the Liturgical week.
From Holy and Glorious Pascha to the Great Feast of Pentecost, Sunday is the first day of the Liturgical week.

O God of all spirits and of all flesh, who have destroyed death, overcome the devil, and given life to the world: grant, O Lord, to the souls of your servants Bucky and Shirley, who has departed from this life, that it may rest in a place of light, in a place of happiness, in a place of peace, where there is no pain, no grief, no sighing. And since You are a gracious God and the Lover of Mankind, forgive him/her every sin he/she has committed by thought, or word, or deed, for there is not a man who lives and does not sin : You alone are without sin, your righteousness is everlasting, and your word is true. You are the Resurrection and the Life, and the repose of your departed servants Bucky and Shirley. O Christ our God, and we send up glory to You, together with your eternal Father and your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and always and for ages upon ages. Amen.
